The Busch 1678 is an HO scale (1:87) laser-cut wood construction kit for a charcoal-burner's works (Kohlerei). In charcoal burning, a stacked and covered pile of wood -- the charcoal kiln, or Kohlenmeiler -- is heated internally so that the wood smoulders into charcoal, while simple huts known as Kothe shelter the charcoal burner from the weather. A leaning ladder is used to feed the kiln from above.

With item 1678 you can perfectly depict a charcoal works at the edge of the forest; the set also includes benches and a wood pile, and the hut features timber framing with genuine wood cladding. The charcoal kiln measures 53 mm in diameter and 28 mm high, while the hut is 35 x 34 mm and 40 mm tall. It is an atmospheric addition to any woodland or historic rural scene.
