Several of these machines were flown by pilots of the 15th Croatian Squadron of JG 52, led by Lieutenant Colonel Fanjo Dzal - a veteran of the tank battle at Kursk - and the Croatian squadron surrendered to US forces at Falconara, Italy, in April 1945.
