Suitable for HO, N, TT, and Z scales, they are ideal wherever a flashing lamp is needed - as warning beacons on model vehicles such as police cars, rescue and fire vehicles, construction, municipal, or agricultural machines, on opening and closing gates, or to bring funfair models to life.

Each of the five LEDs in Faller 163742 measures 2 x 1.25 x 1.1 mm (about 1/16 in. on each side) in the international 0805 component size, so they tuck neatly into the smallest spaces. They run on a supply voltage of 3 to 4 V DC, draw up to 20 mA, and blink at a rate of roughly 1.5 Hz for a convincing warning-light effect. Because the flashing circuit is already integrated, no separate electronics are required - simply connect them to a suitable low-voltage supply. These are finished electronic components, not a model kit, so no assembly or glue is involved.
