Ballast your track to a realistic standard with Faller 170721 Scatter Material, a 150 g bag of dust-free track ballast in a natural stone-grey colour. With a fine grain size of roughly 0.8 to 1.3 mm, this granulate is scaled to look convincing along the sleepers of your permanent way, capturing the crushed-stone bed that supports real railway track. Its finer graining makes it especially well suited to HO, N and TT layouts.

To ballast track, spread the granulate between and around the sleepers, shape it into a neat profile with a soft brush, then fix it in place with diluted scenic glue or Faller Colofix applied through a pipette. The stone-grey tone reads as freshly laid ballast and can be weathered afterwards with pigments for an aged, in-service look. Dust-free and evenly graded, it flows and settles cleanly for a professional finish, and the 150 g bag covers a useful length of track.
