The Faller 222500 Simplon North and South Tunnel Portals bring famous Alpine railway architecture to N scale (1:160) as a plastic model kit, supplied unassembled. The set faithfully reproduces the north portal of Switzerland's Simplon tunnel near Brig and the south portal near Iselle in Italy - the two-gallery route that linked Switzerland and Italy and was the longest rock tunnel in the world until 1970. Each pre-patinated portal can be used independently on a single-track line, making them versatile Epoch I scenic anchors for mountain sections.

Kit 222500 is molded in 3 colours across 31 single parts, with the north portal measuring 6-11/16 x 1-3/4 x 2-15/16 in. (170 x 45 x 75 mm) and the south portal 5-1/16 x 1-5/8 x 3-3/16 in. (128 x 41 x 81 mm). Construction instructions are included, and the factory-applied weathering means the portals look convincing straight from the box. Faller Expert glue (170492) or Super Expert glue (170490) is recommended for assembly (both available in our store).
