By providing a bracket-mounted modified coupler alongside a large offset, truck-mounted coupler, the 1783 addresses the height and clearance differences between the locomotive pilot and its tender. This makes it a targeted Kadee coupling upgrade for modelers running the LGB Uintah and Sumpter Valley locomotives.
