The large offset couplers set the coupling to the proper height for the model, and the truck-mounted gearboxes allow the couplers to swing with the trucks through curves. The 1784 is packaged as one pair.

Each set includes two couplers, two draft gear boxes, two gear box lids, five #861 coupler centering springs, two #2 x 3/8" screws, two #8 x 3/4" screws, four plastic plates, and four bushings, supplying the complete hardware for the conversion.
