The Kadee 1906 is a #1 Scale coupler set featuring New Generation AAR Type E straight centerset shank couplers in black, complete with #1920 body mount gearboxes and lids. The plastic couplers have a 9/16" shank length measured from the back of the coupler head to the center hole of the draft gearbox, a centerset offset, and a New Generation AAR Type E head with a hidden knuckle spring for trouble-free operation. Kadee advises against running a metal coupler directly on a metal surface or in a metal gearbox to avoid electrical crossover, so this plastic set is an ideal drop-in choice. The 1906 comes as one pair per package and is made in the U.S.A.

Each 1906 package includes 2 #1900R New Generation Type E straight centerset shank couplers, 2 #1920R body mount gearboxes and lids, 3 #879 centering springs, and 4 #4 x 3/4" screws. The #1920 plastic gearboxes measure 1 1/4" long by 7/8" wide by 5/16" high and work with #820, #1906, #1906R, and #920 couplers. Mounting specifications call for a mounting height of 1 13/64", a centerline of 1 1/16", and a trip pin height of 1/8", with #4 screws most commonly used. The 1906 works in place of the #1906, #1906R, and #820 straight centerset couplers.
