The Kadee 970 is a pair of large scale (1:29 G scale) A.S.F. A-3 Ride-Control 50-ton freight trucks, built as all-metal, non-magnetic, two-piece self-equalizing trucks in black. Introduced in the 1940s, the A-3 Ride-Control design used longer spring travel, no spring planks, and constant friction control in the bolster to dampen lateral roll, and it saw interchange service through 1994. This makes the 970 well suited to transition-era modeling up to the mid-1990s.

The 970 comes fitted with #960 large scale 29mm 33" smooth-back all-metal non-magnetic black wheels on free-rolling insulated axles, and runs on 45mm track. Each truck mounts with a #4 screw and includes clip-on pads and brake rigging. Mounting adapters for Bachmann, USA Trains, Aristo-Craft (REA), LGB, and PIKO are included, and the trucks are manufactured and assembled entirely in the U.S.A. Supplied one pair per package.
