Product Description
Walthers Cornerstone 933-3153 HO Scale Railroad Tugboat -- Kit - 13 x 3-1/2 x 3-7/8" 32 x 8.7 x 9.6cm
Once a common sight on big city harbors, the prototypes for the Walthers Cornerstone HO Scale Railroad Tugboat were specialized versions of the familiar tugboat. In order to improve visibility over freight cars on the deck of a car float, the railroad tugboat was built with a taller pilothouse. Starting in the 1920s, many railroads began modernizing their fleets with diesel-electric tugs. Not only did they use similar technology to the then-new diesel locomotives, many were painted in the same colorful schemes. These newer tugs remained in service for years, with a few serving new owners yet today. Ready to handle chores in any busy harbor, the Railroad Tugboat kit builds into a detailed replica of the later diesel-electric designs. It features the tall pilot house, along with various roof details, towing bitts, masts and a host of other details. Complete instructions simplify construction and decals are also included. The plastic kit builds into a waterline model with no lower hull detail, so it's easy to add to your new or existing scenery. Your completed model is perfect for use with the Railroad Car Float (933-3152, sold separately) and looks at home in any scene with Cornerstone waterfront structures. The Railroad Tugboat is one of many Cornerstone and SceneMaster HO Scale vehicles.

Waterline (flat bottom) model fits easily in new or existing scenery
Great alongside railroad car float (933-3152, sold separately)
