The Piko 35229 is a G Scale right-hand manual switch on the compact R3 geometry, turning 22.5 degrees with a diverging radius of 920mm (36.2 inches) and a diameter of 1840mm (72.4 inches). A built-in light spring mechanism holds the point rails where you set them and still lets a train run through against the points without derailing, so the 35229 needs no separate switch machine or manual throw to work. Hidden jumper wires are fitted to maintain dependable electrical contact over the long term.

Following the Piko G-Track standard, the 35229 is made from 100 percent virgin brass rail in Code 332 (0.332 inch high) solid profile with ties molded in ultraviolet-stabilized HDPE. Each switch occupies the space of one G280 plus one G140 straight (280mm plus 140mm) with a short R5 curve, so complex plans can be built from just a few section types. You can convert the 35229 to remote control at any time by adding a Piko 35271 switch machine and a controller, and its factory-formed push-together joiners fit tightly and remain compatible with most other brands of G scale track.
