The prototype traces back to exterior-post mechanical reefers built at the Burlington's Havelock Shops, and similar cars served many railroads from the 1960s into the early 2000s. These self-contained refrigerator cars handled everything from fresh produce to frozen and canned foods for cold storage warehouses and grocery wholesalers.

This ready-to-run 910-3783 matches prototype dimensions and includes a diagonal panel roof with a separately applied exhaust stack, detailed plug doors, and refrigerator inlet and outlet grilles. Late improved Dreadnaught ends, a see-through running board, and a highly detailed underbody with fuel tanks and brake gear round out the detail. The car rides on 70-ton roller bearing trucks with correct 33" RP-25 turned metal wheelsets and is equipped with Proto MAX magnetic metal knuckle couplers. This is a one-time run of these road numbers, so quantities are limited.
