The Walthers Mainline 910-40177 is an HO scale 40' double-sheathed wood boxcar, a ready to run model decorated for Delaware, Lackawanna & Western as road number 44072. These cars represent later rebuilds and upgrades of standard 40' wood boxcars that first appeared during World War I; many stayed in general freight service into the 1960s, and some were rebuilt for work-train duty lasting into the 1980s. This is a limited edition, one-time run of these road numbers.

The 910-40177 features a highly detailed one-piece body that captures double-sheathed construction, with 5-5-5 Murphy steel ends, a flat steel roof and a wood running board over a fishbelly underframe. A vertical handbrake staff, finely detailed AB brake gear and Andrews trucks complete the car, which rolls on correct 33 scale inch RP-25 turned metal wheels and is fitted with Proto MAX metal knuckle couplers. The correct lower height adds welcome variety to steam- and diesel-era freight trains.
