The Walthers Proto 920-103265 recreates a classic 30' Grand Trunk Western style wood caboose with an offset cupola, decorated for Western Pacific #726. The prototype traces back to cars first built in the 1920s that paired wood bodies with steel underframes and were later fitted with AB brake equipment. Cabooses of this pattern stayed in service from the 1920s into the 1970s, and similar designs worked on railroads all across the country.

Delivered fully assembled and railroad ready, the 920-103265 includes complete interior detail and factory-installed parts such as the running board, grab irons, brake wheel and smoke jack. It rides on correct leaf spring arch-bar trucks with ultra-smooth rolling metal axles and 33" wheelsets, and couples using Proto MAX metal knuckle couplers. Because the wheelbase and truck placement follow the prototype, a minimum radius of 24" is recommended for Western Pacific #726.
