The Walthers Proto 920-50504 is an HO scale EMD NW2 diesel switcher decorated for Indiana Harbor Belt #8725. EMD built 1,145 NW2 switchers between 1939 and 1949, and these dependable units worked side by side with steam power as well as later diesels. This model follows early production prototypes, with hood and detail variations chosen to match the road name.

The 920-50504 operates on standard DC and is DCC-ready through a Next18 decoder interface, and the NW2 is also offered in an ESU LokSound 5 Sound and DCC version. A five-pole, skew-wound can motor paired with helical gears at a 14:1 ratio drives the model for smooth, quiet running, while a heavy die-cast metal underframe adds pulling weight. Further details include LED constant and directional headlights, correct-size RP-25 metal wheels, Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers, a welded 600-gallon fuel tank, and a cab interior with seats and crew figures.
